The Sport Pilot Certificate is the fastest and least expensive method to get a flying certificate, however like everything in life, the speed to get this certificate depends upon your own resources. The more you can study as well as fly, the quicker you could get this certificate.

 

Requirements

- Be at least 17 years of age

- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language

- Have a valid driver's license or obtain at least a third-class medical certificate

- Receive a minimum of 20 hours of flight time including training and solo flight

- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Private Pilot

If you want to get a Private Pilot Certificate, which I highly recommend, the requirements take a bit longer as you will need to add some basic instrument training as well as night flight training. All worthy pursuits but more time and resources are required. (Please note, I am not able teach at

the PPL level as a Sport Pilot CFI.)
